Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 September 2026
This policy explains what personal data Uncanly collects, why we collect it, and what control you have over it. It applies to the Uncanly mobile app and to uncanly.com.
Who we are
Uncanly ("we", "us") provides an app that helps people reduce or quit energy drinks. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@uncanly.com.
What we collect
- Account data — your email address and name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your email, name, and profile details from Google. We never receive your Google password.
- Information you give us during onboarding — your age range, sex, weight, country, how much you drink, which drinks you buy, when your cravings happen, and your reasons for quitting.
- Your day-to-day use of the app — daily check-ins, whether you stayed within your target, how you felt, any notes you write, and your streak and progress history.
- Subscription status — whether you have an active subscription. Your payment details are handled by Apple and never reach us.
- Technical data — app version, device type, operating system, and basic diagnostic information.
Some of this describes your consumption habits and how you feel, which may be considered health-related. We only use it to build and adjust your plan, and we do not sell it.
Why we use it
- To create your personalised plan and daily guidance, and to adjust it as you check in.
- To show your progress, streaks, and estimated money saved.
- To operate your account, authenticate you, and manage your subscription.
- To respond when you contact support.
- To fix bugs and improve the app.
Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performance of our contract with you to provide the service, your consent for optional features such as notifications, and our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure and working properly.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run Uncanly:
- Amazon Web Services — hosting, account sign-in, databases, and transactional email.
- Superwall — managing subscription access and which paywall you see.
- Apple — processing subscription payments and sign-in.
- Google — sign-in, if you choose it.
- Vercel — hosting uncanly.com.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your profile, plan, and check-in history. Some records may be kept where we are legally required to, such as records relating to payments.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data, object to how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. You can delete your account and its data from inside the app, under Settings → Manage account. To exercise any other right, email support@uncanly.com.
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple, so you need to cancel yours in the App Store.
If you are in the UK or EU and think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to your local data protection authority.
Children
Uncanly is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, email support@uncanly.com and we will delete it.
International transfers
Our service providers may process your data outside your country. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Changes
We may update this policy. When we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
